Greetings members. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and are looking forward to a joyous Christmas. Try not to eat too much. Although a larger belly does help with lowering your center of gravity, it really doesn't do much for your swing. Three important things that need to be addressed this month, so let's get right to it.

The first is our handicap system in which you must participate in order to establish an official USGA Handicap. This is a necessity if you ever play or plan on playing in any tournament. Not to mention it is a great way to keep up with your rounds to see how your game is progressing. Fees are very reasonable at $14.00 per year for members of GMGC and $20.00 for non-members. We are charged by the CGA January 1st of each year for those that are in the system, so we need to have you pay your fee by December 31st. Those not paid by them will be temporarily removed until dues are paid. Any questions, contact Pro Shop Staff.

As most of you know by now, a 'Range Plan' was started earlier this year. It has been a huge success. The $25.00 per month plan will always be available, but as reported in earlier newsletters and flyers, if you pay your 2010 dues for a full year by January 1st, a year's worth of range balls is included. This means regular membership must pay $720.00 and seniors $600.00. $1.97 per day for regular membership plus all the range balls you want to hit is a great deal. That’s less than two soda pops a day. We are also going to incorporate into the 'Range Plan' a FREE monthly clinic to be held either the second or third Saturday of each month. Clinics will cover everything from Basics to Specialty Shots. Times and dates to be further worked out and incorporated in January Newsletter.

Third, and most important, starting January 1st, the Newsletter is going electronic, which means that everyone who has an email address will receive their Newsletter by that route instead of 'Snail-Mail'. But don't fret, those that are computer-challenged or have no valid email address will still receive theirs the old fashioned way. But I need your help. We don't have everyone's address on file. I need you to email me at jdean@ci.goldsboro.nc.us so I can put you into the database. This may take a couple of months to get straight, so please be patient.
