The Goldsboro Golf Course is not your everyday municipal golf course. Built in 1941, the golf course was completely renovated in 1999 under the supervision of renowned golf course architect John LaFoy. The renovated course features large ‘Champion’ Bermuda greens which average over 6,000 square feet each, 419 Bermuda fairways and concrete cart paths throughout.
Goldsboro Golf Course has the best practice facility in the Wayne County area. GGC features nine practice mats, a 20 station grass hitting area, practice bunker, chipping green, and four strategically placed target greens all with laser shot exact distances. Golfers of all levels and abilities can improve their game. Lessons by appointment are available from Obie Agbasi, PGA.
Also instituted at Goldsboro Golf Course are NEW junior rates. Monday through Friday, school age children ages 9 – 18 may walk and play the course for a $4.00 green fee. Saturday through Sunday and on holidays, school-age children may play for $6 green plus $16 cart fee if applicable. Children 8 and under always play for free but must be accompanied by a paying adult. All players must have their own clubs, and proper dress attire is required for use of facilities. T-shirts are not allowed.
The Goldsboro Golf Course is owned and operated by the City of Goldsboro Parks & Recreation Department.
